The UEL community garden is in need of an assistant manager who would assist the new coordinator, Quinn Slotnick, this spring and run the garden in the summer. Big Train Farm is a certified organic vegetable farm located at 35 Pippin Orchard Road in Cranston RI, about 20 minutes outside of Providence, RI. We run a tight, high-energy, high-humor vegetable business which supplies a sizable CSA and maintains a diverse whole-sale clientele in southern New England. In offering an internship position we make available the education on-farm and off-farm necessary to operating and sustaining a farm in this difficult, often unpredictable business. We seek to work with and train individuals who will take their internship experience and serve their communities as either farmers or citizens.
